The D 88 S is an inexpensive dynamic microphone intended for stage vocal applications. It has a metal diecast body, a metal-mesh grille, and an on/off switch. Its polar pattern is Super cardioid, which gives it better side rejection than a Cardioid design. The mic is part of AKG’s CCS series, which is largely discontinued (but reborn as Perception Live). 

Two configurations are available:

• D 88 S/XLR - includes 5m XLR3F-XLR3M (standard microphone) cable
• D 88 S/Jack - includes 5m conversion cable, XLR3F to 1/4'' male audio jack
